Linux with Win XP?

Hello Guys can i install linux with the win Xp which file system i should take for Xp & for Linux??& which OS i should install first. please tell me in detail..thankx my System Configuration is below.

Windows Xp SP2
1.5 Gb of Ram
Intel Original 945 Motherboard
Dual Core 1.8 Processor
No Graphics Card,
