Setup.exe has stopped working

I have windows Vista Ultimate and NVidia 8600GT and when I try to install some games like Crisys or CM Dirt, even the DirectXSDK, I get this message "SETUP.EXE STOPPED WORKING ..."

Try to run in compatibility mode the file setup.exe, clicking the right-click properties-click the compatibility and performance in Xp and disable visual themes ..

If you are sure the problem is not so try to update the drivers what they are. These motherboards normally tend to ask for a BIOS update to run Vista ... nothing is resolved, you have the solution that is running the applications as an administrator.

Disable the Startup programs and services

1. On the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon ( ), and then click Search .
2. In the Search text box, type msconfig , and then press Enter . The System Configuration Utility window opens.
3. Click the Startup tab, and then click Disable All .
4. Click the Services tab, select Hide all Microsoft services , and then click Disable All .
5. Click Apply , and then click OK . The System Configuration dialog box opens.
6. Click Restart .
7. When the computer restarts, a System Configuration Utility message displays. Select the Do not show this message again check box, and then click OK .
