Vista, where to find: \USER\Application Data

Hello,

I try to go on:

Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data

I can not find it on Vista, but could able to find it on XP.

Can someone inform me where to find this Application Data folder in vista?

"Application Data" folder in vista has been renamed as AppData. Not only Application Data folder many folders used by earlier versions of Windows have moved to a new location or given a new name in Windows Vista. However, the old folders can still be seen if you have enabled Show Hidden Files. Notice they are displayed with a transparent icon and a shortcut symbol. Although these appear like folders, which are actually known as a Junction. Junctions behave like shortcuts, but they look like regular folders. Its purpose is to silently redirect programs that access them to their Windows Vista equivalent. Since Junctions are not really folders, you can not access them, and any attempt to do so will give an "Access Denied" error.

Its called "ProgramData". The folder is in the root directory.

There are also various "AppData" folders in your various "Users" folders.

Under XP it is: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data

Under Vista it is: C:\ProgramData\

The Application Data folder does not exist in Vista you will find folder with name name "AppData" , The correct path is here: C:\Users\username\AppData\.... C: refers to your vista drive. You need to 'show hidden files and folders' via Organize, Folder and Search Options.
