Unable to logon to the server using Secure Password Authentication. Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR not supported', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

i am getting this error when i try to synchronize.... pls help me to clear this problem....

In Windows Mail account settings, disable Secure Password Authentication.

In Outlook Express, try using Clear Text, which is the Log on using option under the Servers tab of the mail account.

To do so:

1. On the Tools menu, click Accounts. This will bring up several tabs.
   
   
2. If you select any listed mail account, the properties will have a Servers tab with the Log on using option.
   
   
3. Select the Clear Text option.

If this works, then you were trying to access a non-existent mailbox or the wrong mailbox. If this does not work, then the administrator needs to check for and remove the custom recipient.

Did you put the CHECK mark on This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)?

Try to Disable any firewall, including the Windows Firewall, to see if problem can be solved?

You can add the Port afterwards.

I advice you check out if you have the permission to use this server.

7. Fix Outlook error 0x800CCC18 (SICILY LOGON FAILED - Logon attempt failed)

a. Check your account information to make sure the account is not case sensitive and reboot your PC then try again.

b.Make sure the account is still active with the ISP and that the ISP is not having an e-mail outllook.
