schedule task problem in Server 2003
I tried to create a task using Scheduled Tasks where I can shutdown the computer daily in a specific time, but all I got was black window that comes up for a split second and no task. I want to run this task from a computer which is part of Server 2003 domain & from a user account, not administrator . The user account was created on the server, not the local machine. What I should do to fix this problem, Thanks |

How are you connecting to the servers in question? You should be able to connect with RDP and create the tasks without any trouble. run psexec.exe then add the task. from system internals

i think you checkout for account lockout policy. You can only have 1 domain account policy, this should be applied at the root of the domain and give precedence over default policies check here http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;223375or for more go here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308558 |

Go to start->programs->accessories->system tools->and click scheduled tasks. Right-click and choose new, task. Name it something like restart. Double-click it. In the Run box, enter: %windir%\system32\shutdown /r /f /t 30 Go to the schedule tab, choose Weekly, click the day you want to reboot and give it a time. Click OK, and if it asks for username password, put in the domain\username and password make it sure the username password should be Administrator or Master password. When done, you should test it (if it's OK to reboot now). Right-click the task and choose run. |

It is not working, all I'm getting is the same black window for a split second. I think it may has something with the permissions. What are the permissions that a user needs in order to run the task? |
