Unknown icon in the taskbar

Hello all

Since yesterday I have a small blue square that appears on my taskbar with the letters FFA . when I moves mouse over the icon it tells FF dshow audio decoder, a Windows update or other media?? I do not know what this is, I'm in vista. Thank you in advance for answering me.

Hi,
ffdshow is a set of DirectShow filters and VFW codec for video compression, decompression and processing and audio compression and processing. You can play almost any movie using ffdshow. You can actually find the WMP, the Media Player or classic players such as Vlc is reading a file that generates its appeal and as you noted, its presence in the systray, the closure of the player ...> disappearance of the icon.

Check the programs that startup with your computer. To do this (if you have XP) go to Start > Run >type "msconfig" > click on the "Startup" tab and see what programs are checked. If you're not sure what something is, google the "Startup Item" name.
