Blue Screen Of Death on Inspiron 1525

    Hi,
3 days ago I got this problem with my Inspiron 1525 laptop.
I have a dual boot setup with XP & Vista on this machine.
The Vista boots takes me to the BSOD. XP is working fine.
Can you guys tell me what can I do in this situation?

Well I would suggest you to check your hardware connection once again 1 by 1. & attach them start with the minimum basic requirements disconnect all additional hardware components & check If you get any faulty hardware.

Was any software installed or hardware added after receiving receiving the computer and before the BSOD? For example, Trend?

What we really hope for is to see a non Windows driver mentioned in the minidump.

The wireless driver would be my first suspect. Can you try connecting with an ethernet cable if you are not doing that?

If you do the following, maybe we can find one.

1 > create a new folder on the desktop and call it "dumpcheck" or whatever you like
2 > navigate to %systemroot%\minidump and copy the last few minidump files to that folder.%systemroot% is normally c:\windows. They are numbered by date. You can paste that address in address bar to get there.
3 > close the folder and right click on it and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder.
4 > use the "manage attachments" in the "advanced" reply window to upload that zip file here as an attachment.

This might point us to a non-system driver causing the error, if one exists for it.

You try two things, click Start > All Problems > Maintenace > Problem
Reports and Solutions > View Problem History > see if there any listed
issues relating IE. Its possible you could have a incompatible ActiveX
installed such as the Sun Java Console. Next check the Event Viewer in
Administrative Tools (Control Panel) to see if there are any error messages
that occurr on startup. Post back here for further diagnosis.

Well, you have to give us more information about what is your computer specifications and what Operating System you have installed in your pc. Normally, a Blue Screen Of Death is caused by either corrupt drivers or faulty ram that is installed in your computer. And if you are having a repair disc of the operating system, then you can furthermore try to repair the OS and check if that works for you or not.

    Hi there,

Thank you for all valuable suggestions and advises. Ok, here’s the situation most people still are having trouble with –

You want to install XP on a computer running windows vista which is preinstalled. Many people are finding the blue screen of death an issue.

Cause: The cause on why it comes is because you have the incorrect components, and windows shuts down to stop xp from harming your pc.

Solve: The best way which always works, is to find each component on your computer and upgrade the firmware, or if not, change it and buy one which is suitable for XP. Microsoft DOES NOT want people dual booting, therefore they disabled it, as different components work for vista, and different components work for xp.

Easy way: An easier way is to use Microsoft Virtual pc, but note the chance of it working is 25%.

    Hope somebody likes.

    Regards,
