Is probably similar to games: you can install everything, but then after the installation is concerned, those who are the hardware requirements. But there is nothing against the fact that you just try and we reported them, or test? well maybe you could install it, but it will not run. less than 1 gb it should not go utiilizing the average is about 1 / 2 gb

I think with 256MB will not go, because the installation will not even start yet. Microsoft recommends 1GB for windows 7 at 512 mb it may run but not perfectly

In 2 ways to you can install Windows 7 in a computer having rma less than 1Gb One way is installing Windows 7 with 512 mb of ram and then once Windows is installed you can remove the memory leaving into the system only 128 or 256 mb of ram installed. The computer should run just fine. I set 5 computers, 3 with 256mb and 2 with 128 mb ram with windows 7 up and running just fine...probably even faster that if they would have windows xp.

in reality RAM is so cheap now days that i think people should have absolutely alteast 4Gb installed(including laptops), at least we should take advantage of all the 32 bits potential.
