    Cannot load driver c:\windows\phlashnt.sys.

Sony VAIO, vgn-fz11s laptop. For a new battery I am supposed to install the driver which were included. When I do so, I get the following message. I have tried, running as administrator, log in as administrator but it is always the same. It is a clean windows 7 installation, there is no sony software on it anymore. The error message is:

Cannot load driver c:\windows\phlashnt.sys. Please check your accounts, if you have no administrator priviledge, please login again. The driver has been blocked from loading. Error code: 1275.

    Best regards

Try the 2 steps given below:

    1. You will first need to copy entire expanded Winphlash directoy contents to c:\windows\system32\drivers folder

    2. Then right click and run winphlash from this directory as Administrator.
    DFI LANPARTY SLI-DR
    AMD 64 x2 4800+
    OCZ (2 x 512) DDR600

    thanks for the answer.
I do not have a file called "winphlash". I moved all the files contained in the archive (bps8w.exe its called, its an archive). I tried to execute UpdateBattery.exe, that tells me it cannot find an unnamed file !!!!

Then I tried to exeute SWinflash.exe: In runs a little bit then it stops again.

    The same with Insydeflash.exe.

I ran into the same issue, after half a day I figured it out.

It was due to 64 bit windows 7.

easiest way is to make a boot CD and run Mini WinXP.
I simply booted off this CD and ran the BIOS update.

    I'd thought I'd share!!

    Really easy!
