Hey try out the following steps to resolve your issue.

    * Change the default settings on security and firewall settings for XP SP2.

    * Try uninstalling SP2 until all of the issues have been resolved.

    * Inform the software vendor of the issues. Receive updates from software vendor for Windows XP SP2 compliant software.

May it help you to resolve your issue.

Hey format your laptop and then try to install your windows xp sp2 on it. It may be due to some files which may have been corrupted and not allowing you to download. It can be also your antivirus software which may not allow you to download anything from the internet. Try to disable them and then try it.

Hey don't go for Office 2007, its not good to work on. Try to install Office 2003 as its smooth and fast to use. Office 2007 is complicated to work on. It would be worthful to go for Office 2003.
