Extremely Slow boot up with Windows XP

Sponsored Links
Last week, one evening I turn on my PC is the LAN connection, WIFI in the "Network Connections". Software no longer work or are no longer present on the disc.

I decided to reinstall the PC (XP). Any installation of windows is going well. I finished installing all its drivers and a reboot, the PC is not far from 5min to start completely. Let me explain .... I start the PC, at the time of activation of personal settings pending 30sec. Arrived on the desktop PC froze when loading the network connections (local / wifi). As soon as my hand, I go in the workplace and not far from 2min to access the HDD.
And AC in each boot and any user.

I resinstall many times with different WinXP CD with SP2 with SP3 ...
Nothing doing. I attempted a resinstallation on another hdd.

Memory test with memtest86 => no error
I think my hdd is good that the PB is the same with another hdd.

The thing that is strange is that when I connect a external hdd and I'm going in the workstation , I see him directly, but not the others.

I would more for a pb motherboard because of delays in loading and hdd slow loading connections.

HELPPPPPPPP ....... I get mad ;-(
If you have an idea, I'm interested.

Thank you in advance

Re: Extremely Slow boot up with Windows XP

Make a "Load BIOS default settings in the BIOS.

Does this makes you the same problem if you Boot Windows in Safe Mode?

What is the make and model of your computer?

As you make changes in hardware recently?

Re: Extremely Slow boot up with Windows XP

I do a "Load default BIOS settings" => same issue.
I flash the bios with latest update => same issue.

In Safe mode, no access to issue hdd but no network connections.

No change in equipment.

My PC is a PC home-made:
  • Asus P5K
  • Intel Core Duo E6750
  • Geil PC 6400 2GB
  • Hdd 320GB and 250GB with WinXP datas
  • Asus EN8800GTS 320Mb
  • Wifi PCI Card Netgear WG311

Re: Extremely Slow boot up with Windows XP

Did you deleted all partitions on the disk before you reinstall Windows?
