black screen at startup

I have a concern that I can not explain. I built a PC last night for a friend, I installed windows vista home premium, the Windows updates, drivers, etc etc. Finally installing ASUS Update, PC Probe II history to see just what it is and a little screen capture, I reboot (which should be the last time) and there I stucked! The PC gives me BLACK SCREEN! No BIOS post, no beeps, keyboard and mouse do not work (connected USB)! Yet the LED on the motherboard indicates that all is well (green), the fans turned, the CD player works.

If it can help you here is the config I installed:

- INTEL Core 2 Quad 2.5GHz
- ASUS P5QL PRO (Intel ® P43/ICH10R - Socket 775 - FSB 1333)
- DDR2 2GB [1GB x 2] DDR800 (PC2-6400) - OCZ Platinum DDR2 Dual Channel
- ASUS Extreme N9600GT SILENT/HTDI PCIe (GeForce 9600GT 512DDR
- SATA300 250GB - 7200 Samsung SpinPoint F1
- SATA - DVD ± RW 8.5GB SAMSUNG

all in a box ANTEC NSK6580 with a ANTEC 430W power supply.

So if someone can help to isolate and fix the problem, that I would be very very useful. I only hope that the motherboard is not stiff and I can fix that!

May be bad connection between screen and graphics card.

Did you had a tone at the first time during startup?

I do not think, with another screen I have the same problem! And the two screens, that I used, works perfectly ...

Check your connections and test with another power supply maybe? Graphics card is certainly not because otherwise the motherboard would have given some beep sound I think. Also you can also try with just the basic components (like processor, motherboard, ram, hard disk).

After making all the tests that you advise me here, I got the beep at the start of the PC ... oh thanks! In fact I dismantled the PC almost entirely leaving only the cpu and ram as proposed! Good news at the moment because I've heard beeps! So I recovered my PC ...

As against the problem was not settled because I still can not start! I say that this might be a BIOS problem! So I do a reset by removing the battery from the motherboard and there ... oh miracle, the PC has booted without asking and it was played! So in all that was the BIOS that did not know where it was!
