Can i play Windows Based games on Sun Solaris??

hey everyone,
I'm currently building a computer, and the person i'm building it for has requested that i put sun solaris as the OS for gaming. From what i understand its a Unix based OS about which i know next to nothing. Is it a stable OS. Can Windows based games such as WarCraft, NFS, counter-Strike or any high-end games work with Sun Solaris? Help Guys!

It is extremely stable,and would be considered an obscure OS by people who use the desktop. but it is not geared for gaming, rather, it is a very good enterprise OS. This doesn't mean that you cannot game on it, but rather give it a try!

Windows based applications would work but what's he planning on doing, running everything through WINE? thats a miserable decision!

he'll be able to play any java game only as per my understanding! even if windows based high-end games install on Solaris, it would be to complex to run it via WINE. it'll take a lot of your memory resource and might end up chrashing the system! so windows based games on Solaris - "NOT RECOMMENDED"
