However you can adjust the compatibility option and set it to run in Compatibility mode for Windows 95
Step 1>Right Click Icon of game (shortcut or program)
Step 2>Properties
Step 3>Select Compatibility (Tab)
Step 4>Check the box "Run in compatibity mode......"
Step 5>Select "Windows 95" in the list of items.
That soultion usually works well!!
You can choose the run compatibility option in Vista. Simply right click the game .exe (or CD in Computer), and click Run Under... and select Windows * from it.
hi,
I think running games on Vista can be a bit of a hit and miss really..i mean you can change the compatibility mode to suit your game but then again you might actually need to patch your games for them to work on a vista machine.
as you're on XP why not dual boot..that way you wont have to go through any problem with games.
hi,
If you have games that contain lots of uncompressed textures or audio files and take up like 500 MB each, go with something like 16 GB maybe and choose FAT32 as file system. Where can you set the video memory in Virtual PC (or aren't you using that at all?)?
I think something between 8 and 64 MB should be enough. Hell, my first Pentium PC had a 32 MB video card that was sufficient for all games I used to play.
