Sytem Restore from Help and Support not working

After a virus which my paid for virus checker didn't get I've removed the virus file but now system restore doesn't work from the help and support link but it does work from the start-programs-accessories-system tools link. Any ideas?
I have reinstalled it as suggested by the advice on here but that link doesn't work.

Thanks, tried all that, had to use my ASR backup, so along with my daily backups didn't lose anything. Wish Windows 7 had that ASR capability.
