You can see this for Power Management in windows 7: Windows 7 Power Management

Windows provide 3 plans to manage power of your computer.
    • Balanced
    • Power saver
    • High performance

To customize the power plan in windows, follow this steps:-

    1. Go to Control Panel > Power Option.

    2. After clicking on the Power Options icon, you're asked to Select a Power Plan.Balanced (the default) and Power saver. Balanced turns off the display after 10 minutes of inactivity and puts your computer into sleep mode after 30 minutes. Power saver halves those times to 5 minutes and 15 minutes respectively. Select here as per your choice

    3. For a Custom Power Plan, select an available custom power plan.

    4. Close the Power Options window.

    Thats it..

Type the Plan Name and click Next.Set Turn off the display and Put the computer to sleep settings as per your requirements and then click Create.Your Plan will be visible in the Preferred plans as an Active Plan.
