How to secure Files in Linux?

HI friends,
I am facing an issue with my linux. Normally my Computer is being used by my many people at my place and there are some of the important files of mine which I don’t want the other users should get access to it. So is there any way or any command which I need to type for securing my Files.


Please my me out with this issue.

Here is the way of Securing your files/Folder.

Holding Ctrl+h will show hidden folders in nautilas.With this you can make them hidden from everyone.

If you want to have it hidden for yourself than but dot\period at the beginning for make it Hidden.

Eg:-

If your file name is example than you need to rename as .rename

• To completely lock your entire home folder open console and type chmod -r /home/name of your directory/.
  
• To enable permission in terminal type chmod +r /home/name of your directory/.
