Problem while installing a cd..

I'm facing a problem while installing from a cd. I have bought a workshop manual cd, which i'm able to install on my pc but the same i can't do on my laptop. I followed the instruction by clicking on install.exe program, but say that it has no effect.I have installed windows XP on my pc as well on my laptop. Can any one help me out with this problem?

" install.exe " is a process belonging to an advertising program. This process monitors your browsing habits and distributes the data back to the author's servers for analysis. This also prompts advertising pop-ups. This process is a security risk and should be removed from your system.

Determining whether install.exe is a virus or a legitimate Windows process depends on the directory location it executes or runs from.

The setup file is not compatible with XP, although the program would appear to be.

Copy the CD to a folder on your hard drive and put a shortcut on your desktop. - I guess- "autorun" file.

An alternative may be to try running the setup.exe in Compatability Mode right click on setup.exe --> Properties --> compatability tab.

You can follow the steps mention below:-

1. Click on "Start" button and click on "My Computer" option from the menu.

2. Right-Click on your CD drive and click Explore

3. This will open the contents of the CD.

4. If you find a setup.exe file, double-click to install it. If you find a zipped file, extract the contents and then install.
