1) Yes when i attach my speakers are working fine.
2) I am using ubuntu 8.10.
And my pin connector is not usb it thin connector
It means if your external speakers work, your headphones should also work. Using headphones with a pin is the simplest to use in any computer.
Did you see that your speakers are connected to the light green socket on your computer. To use your headphone, you need to replace the speakers pin on your computer with your headphones pin.
Once you do that, if your speakers work and headphones do not, perhaps there is a problem with your headphone or check if they have a volume control on them.
So, finally:
1. Do speakers work?
2. If yes, if you replace the speakers' connector pin with the headphones pin, do the headphones work? If no, check the headphones with another audio device to confirm they are not faulty.
3. If you get no sound in either speakers or headphones, then open your colume control applet and check the volumes. The other way to check the volumes is to open a terminal and give the following command
$> alsamixer -c 0
with this command you can use up, down, right and left arrow to check the volume are not to zero.
Thank you Very Much it Worked.I am Very thankfull to you
