    Problem with downloads

I mounted a config following the recommendations of the site:

    Motherboard: ASUS Pro p5q
    Intel Core 2 Duo E8500
    2 hard drives SATA WD
    2 x 2 GB of RAM

From the hardware point of view no worry.

Installing XP SP3, no problem with the setup. But thereafter each download is corrupt. The installation of avast, it says that the file is corrupted. Same problem by installing from a USB key. Firefox, for example, it took 3 downloads to install it.

I made all possible updates on windows update. I have updated drivers for the network adapter, the chipset, SATA controller but always the same problem. I add that the problem exists with or without a firewall

    please help me

No, its not at all free. In fact, after more testing the problem is not exclusively Download. The same concern is with a .exe file from a USB key.

I have reinstalled windows. Now another problem is that impossible to install open office, same corrupted file problem.

I think I have to install another version of xp.

Could be the problem of bad cluster on your hard drive? Either try to repair those cluster using Windows options (My Computer - Right click on Local Drive - Select properties - select Tools tab) or replace the hard drive and reinstall the operating on a new hard disk.
