How to get location of software is installed in ubuntu ?

Hello all friends around here

I'm using ubuntu. How do I know which software is installed? I have installed java and I am looking for is where it is installed ?

How to get location of software is installed in ubuntu ?

Hi here is solution :

Code:
find / usr-name "packagename"
Because the new executable are usually installed in / usr & Executables Correspondents often the package name.

But there may be more simple.
