Windows will not start more STOP: 0x00000050

Hello,
I get an error message when i start Windows:

There is a problem found. Windows is closed to prevent damage.

The problem is probably caused by the following file: ntfs.sys

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Behind the prompt, type the following commands intrommelen, followed by: enter:

chkdsk / r

fixboot

Exit, and your PC will start up again.

I have the XP - CD in there and made Welcome to Setup . F10 printed and when I got it right back with that same blue screen error there are only following the Addresses 0x00000050 just something else.

can also be problem with your hardware. How much memory sticks are there in your PC ? Test your memory with first mentest: http://hcidesign.com/memtest/download.html
Probably corrupt 1 module

i m having the same problem apart frm dat it is not even installing windows xp every time i try to either install new windows or repair previous windows my pc shows same error if i connect this HDD to another HDD installed with windows XP(working fine) that also doesnt work and computer reboots I hv tried to change RAM also bt it didnt work out so can anyone plz. help me out!!!!

you have to boot from cd to do those repairs.Read screens and when it ask's....press "r" for repair console.

do you have another hard drive to try to install xp to?
It sounds like a hard drive issue that should be ruled out.
If you have/can borrow an other hdd, try to install xp and see if error appears again.
leave original hard drive disconnected.

Hello,

I just got a bare bones kit and put everything together and received the following error message when trying to install Windows XP Home Edition (keep in mind everything is brand new including the hard drive):

0X00000050 (0XE531C9F8, 0X00000000, 0XF74BB9AB, 0X00000002)

I have 3 GB's of memory (2GB & 2 - 1024's). I unpluged the PC, removed the battery on the Asus M4n78 Pro and set the jumper to clear the Cmos, then reset the jumper and plugged the Mother Board battery again. Then I tried each memory stick one by one and reset the Bios clock/date and tried installing Windows XP again. I keep getting the same error message.

I do not have Windows loaded yet so I can not do an F8 Safe Mode check.

How would you recommend I try to narrow down the memory (error message) culprit?

Could it be my CPU, bad Ram, any ideas? I need help!

I was able to run "chkdsk" and the dos mode and got a message saying "the volume appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problems".

Does this mean I may have a corrupted hard drive?

Guess what! I went and grabbed the model and serial number off from my hard drive. When I downloaded the schematics for it I noticed I did not have the POWER CABLE hooked up, only the Sata cable. Talk about a ditz.

I booted her up and it is formatting my hard drive right now. Praise the Lord!!!!

So it pays to stay cool and go back and check all of your hardware, connections and especially your power and sata cables.
