4Gb Ram in Windows Xp 32 bit doubt

Good, I wanted to know if the offering of 4 GB of RAM in a 32-bit operating system (Windows XP), could cause failure in the computer software as a lockup, and so on. I know that it recognizes only between 3-3.3 Gb Ram, but it was in my understanding that this did not affect anything for the operating of the system. The fact is that my computer crashes frequently and I do not know if it's a software problem with the windows or is that my motherboard (the signing) does not support such a load of ram. Please if anyone can throw me a solution it would be great, thanks.

There is no problem in the amount of memory. Dont know why you hang up, but putting 4 GB of memory does not imply any compatibility. XP handles only 32-odd 3GB according to the board you have and ignores the rest.

So maybe the inconsistency is that I have four modules and 1Gb of Ram 2x2Gb not, or maybe my microATX motherboard that is not to be loaded. Thanks, I just wanted the opinion of people in my situation.
