A failure occurred while synchronizing the .Mac Sync Client

    Hi,

I'm getting .mac sync errors. I often get the following error - .Mac Sync Error :A failure occurred while synchronizing the .Mac Sync Client. I recently upgraded to Safari 3 and I removed SIMBL to keep Keyword Manager from loading in iChat. Is there a way to have some more details on the problem?

Make sure you are looking in your complete set of contacts or calendars. When setting up your MobileMe account on iPhone OS 3.1, will have the option to merge or combine the data. If you choose not to join, MobileMe data are kept separate from data already in the device. Contacts / Calendars, tap the button in the upper left corner until you can see all the calendars or groups, and verify that you are looking at the data from MobileMe.

If your calendars or contacts do not sync as expected, check MobileMe Calendar or MobileMe Contacts. If the data is correct there, your data is on the MobileMe servers. If this is the case, resync the data on your computer with data from MobileMe:

    1. Open MobileMe System Preferences (".Mac" in Tiger).
    2. If you have Leopard or Snow Leopard, click Sync and then click Advanced.
If you have Mac OS X Tiger just click Advanced.
    3. Click Reset Sync Data.
    4. Choose the affected data, such as calendars, and make sure the arrow is pointing from MobileMe toward your computer.
    5. Click Replace.

Your problem may be caused by a corrupted file of iSync. Reset your sync history, choose iSync> Preferences, then click the Reset Sync History button. If that fails, go to Home> Library> Preferences. Trash the com.apple.iSync.plist file. Empty Trash. Now give it a chance.

Re: A failure occurred while synchronizing the .Mac Sync Client

I keep getting the same message. Better yet, I don't have a .mac account, nor a mobileme account. Why in the F@#$! is it continually trying to sync when never asked to sync to anything. Must have been activated upon upgrade to snow leopard.

Though several blogs refer to this problem, nothing to find in Apple support.

    It's pissing me off.

I courteous and knowledgeable Apple MobileMe support tech walked me through the solution.

Go to iSync, find via spotlight.
    Preferences
    uncheck syncing
    uncheck show data change alert
    reset sync history
    exit out
    shut down
    start up
    fixed!

I'm glad you found a solution. I too was provided this solution by Apple TechSupport... The Apple TechSupport is simple great, but at times they get lousy...
