Do you have the Terminal service disabled?

check out and start the service again if its disabled.....You will not be able to view who is logged on to a particular computer by viewing the "user" tab located in the Task Manager if this service is disabled!!

    Re: Task Manager Problem

If you're running Windows XP SP2, then download the following file:
    http://windowsxp.mvps.org/temp/termservice.reg
Save the file to Desktop. Right-click the file and choose Merge. Click Yes
to confirm. Note that this REG file removes and re-creates "Terminal
Services" service entry in the registry!!
    reboot ur pc after this...!!
