File copying Error in Window XP PRO!

Hi,
File copying error occurred when I was trying to install windows xp pro on my Desktop computer.
I formated my desktop PC for installing windows XP pro, the install goes through formatting the disk, the next step it does is to "copy files".....now at this point it runs and copies 21% of the files and just stops. I then shutdown the PC and restarted the installation...I get the same Error when it finishes 85% of the copied files then stops.

What could be problem? Why would one run copy to21% and then another time it copies 85% of the files?

Please check the CD you are using for Boot, is it damage? As per my knowledge the problem may be related to the CD and not any hardware problem.
