GPL Linux drivers for Creative X-Fi

One step closer to Linux?After publishing (news: 80,618 in late 2007], a first beta drivers for its sound cards for 64-bit Linux, Creative publish this week new software that will support its X-Fi under the Linux 32 and 64 bits. Because of the license used by Creative, the GPL v2, the community of Linux users will be able to improve these drivers over time.

The assumption is not complete, and we can not enjoy for example, at least for the moment, features EAX type.According to a message left on the Creative forums, these drivers are capable of managing the ALSA PCM Playback, the ALSA Record and the ALSA mixer.

On the support material, the manufacturer of Singapore indicates that these drivers are suitable for X-Fi cards Titanium (and under variations, such as Professional Series), Elite Pro, Fatal1ty, and XtremeGamer XtremeMusic.

• External I / O modules are not supported in this driver release.
