    Active directory problem

    Hi Experts i am unbale to open Active users & computers, Active directory sites and services,Active directory domains and trusts whn i was trying to open it displaying this error

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\dsa.msc

    Access is denied

    I dont have backup for active directory

    pls help in that

    log on with Admin previlage n try to access.

    i am only the administrator i have full access

    whenever u r getting the message access denied it means permission are denied.rt click on the dsa.msc file and check the permissions in its properties.
    and also check other .msc file.and tell us also which antivieus u r using.

    we have full permissions over dsa.msc file

    we are using symantic antivirus

    go to properties
    security
    advanced
    owner
    select administrator
    check on BOX :-replace owner on
    ok
    apply
    ok restart
    working fine

    U can check the security option in symantec...I faced same problem, in that condition I uninstalled the Quickheal antivirus.Even u can also uninstall the symantec.check it out and give us the feedback......

    Just try to open other MSc file like. dnsmgmt.msc, compmgmt.msc...

    If you get the same error--access denied .. try the below steps

    1. Open as Run as (Right click) and open with ur ID ..

    Do let me know the status

    hi, I have the same problem with w2003 sp2, when I try to execute (logged as administrator) any .msc I receive a message "access is denied", but if I run it using "Run As" it work fine...

    What is wrong on my server? How can I fix it?

    any help? link? blog? comment?

    Yeah!! Some time due to some unexpected cause, MSC file's not associted with MMC extension to open.

    Serch DSA.msc (Systemroot) Right click open with MMC . It should solve the problem.
