    ctfmon.exe

    Hi all
I am frustrated with the ctfmon.exe process that just won't stop opening no matter what I do. I remove it from the startup items and it just magically reappears. So what is it? I feel its just taking my memory.if anybody know what it is and how to stop this process then please suggest me.

    ctfmon.exe

Ctfmon.exe monitors the active windows and provides text input service support for speech recognition, handwriting recognition, keyboard, translation, and other alternative user input technologies.

ctfmon.exe is the Microsoft process that controls Alternative User Input and the Office Language bar. It's how you can control the computer via speech or a pen tablet, or using the onscreen keyboard inputs for asian languages.
If you are using any of the above, you should leave it enabled.

Removing the Ctfmon.exe might cause problematic behavior in your Office XP programs, so removing it is not recommended.

You can just completely unregister the dlls that run the alternative input services by running these two commands from the run box (one at a time)

    • Regsvr32.exe /u msimtf.dll
    • Regsvr32.exe /u msctf.dll
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (3.6GHz, 1.44v) with TR Ultra 120E,
