Hi
I am running Windows XP SP2 on my system. My Hard Disk (Seagate 250GB Sata) crashed and had to get a replacement (Western Digital 250 GB Sata). I formatted and freshly installed Windows XP SP2. Now I have 3 partitions including Primary. It worked for a day, now when I start my system there is no display. I tried Repair install but it does not detect Windows ( It shows as C drive NTFS Partition). I finally decided go in for a fresh install. It copies all files and when I select the C partition for the installation I receive the following message" Windows XP Professional Setup: An error occurred while setup was updating partition information on:238473 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi (MBR). Setup cannot continue. To quit setup, press F3."
There is no other option just to press F3 to quit. If I connect the same HDD to another system externally, I'm able to see all the Drives and even all Windows files. How do I solve this problem...
Please help me as I need to recover my files... or reformat the drive.

Thank you in advance for the help.
