Remove or Modify a Multiboot Win98/XP

I currently have a machine multiboot office a classic (ie managed by Windows) as configured on the same hard disk

    - W98 on a partition (no data user on this score)

    - XP SP2 on an extended partition (no data user on this score)

    - 3 extended partitions additional data

I would like to replace W98 by XP SP3, while maintaining operational XP SP2 as a spare wheel during the relocation of my setup on XP SP3.

    If someone can help me.

    Thank you for your answers.

    Good evening,

I think you should remove 98 to first, then do a dual XP / XP.

    Remove a Windows 9x/NT/2000 multi-boot:

    1) Go to your system and edit the boot.ini file to remove obsolete entries.

    2) After setting up Windows Explorer, delete all records system (\ Windows or \ winnt in the case of a multi-boot with a second version NT/2000/XP) and the following files : Io.sys, msdos.sys, command.com and, if necessary, autoexec.bat and config.sys.

    3) Finally, and perhaps, start from your Windows XP CD and run the Recovery Console to repair the boot sector.

The trick that can be crumpled is that you have your XP on a scope (what idea! ).

I am surprised that your xp sp2 is operational after installation of XP SP3, unless the XP installation is detected, What surprises me because it is not a whole party system can not start alone
