If the software thinks that you are going to want a particular application at a particular time, it will have it loaded into the available RAM. The plus side is that with more RAM, there's more caching and better software response.
Vista 64bit works best for 4gb of Ram memory support IMO.

Hey i have a littele different openion than you.
Windows XP pro is better than Vista cause it uses less resources than Vista, & makes your system faster.

If you want to utilize the full 4Gb of ram go with Vista 64bit, any 32 bit OS won't reconize your full 4GB of ram. This incluses windows XP or Vista 32 bit OS, they will only see 3.5GB of ram.

Oh great rammy, thank you for that precious information. That means I'll have to have a 64 bit OS only for full utilization of my 4GB Ram? So in that, which would you suggest? Vista or XP. I am considering to have a dual boot with either 1 of this and an Ubuntu Linux.
