Vista 64 bit hangs before the login screen.

Hi,

With my Vista 64 bit it hang for a minute before the log in screen. This is not regular but very often it happens with my PC.
Anyone here knows this thing if i can fix it if anything wrong?

Did you try to boot in safe mode? did you installed any new hardware or application recently ?

Startup is roughly kernel and smss/system process, splash screen, loading drivers (boot then other device and service drivers), loading critical services, then background wallpaper/color shows, load more services and modules/exes, display winlogon dialog box, finish loading things in background (startup items from registry, delayed services, etc).
These process may be taking long time for your system so i would suggest you to use a good registry cleaner. This will help you.

try unplugging any usb printers with card readers, card readers, flash drives that you may have left plugged in.
even a usb harddrive, may cause it, so unplug that as well.
if non of the above make any difference, try unplugging other usb devices.
including keyboard and mouse. you can plug them backin again when windows loads or gets to login screen.
