Windows Vista serial key license

hello to all, last year I was given a computer assembled with a cd-key for original home Windows Vista 32bit. I have uninstalled and formatted the hard disk so as to have Windows XP SP2.
I am building a new PC and I was wondering if I can install Vista with that same serial even if the license has already been used to the old PC, only for a week ... can I?

It depends if it was a private key. Some remote possibilities are there. But always it would be illegal, since the license always follows the hardware of the same origininal PC, and therefore cannot be done.

This is not a warez site, where you can get operating system serial keys or any hacks/cracks. Better buy the windows vista operating system from the microsoft website or some other. You can buy this operating system from here - http://www.microsoft.com/india/windo...ialoffers.mspx. And before asking for serial keys, read rules of the forums.
