| user login
Usually when i install xp and am the only user, i get straight into the desktop without the login screen and being asked for a password. Now with my last install (still the only user) i do get this login screen. Is there a way to turn it off? |

Have you given password to the login user that you use? Then the welcome screen will come that will ask you for the password. If you have not given the password and if you are the only user, then I'll give the solution. Let me know |

In that case, you will get an option 'Change the way users log on or off' in User Accounts under Control Panel. In that, just uncheck the first option 'Use the welcome screen' and apply that option. It will directly take you to your windows desktop from the next time you log in ![]() |

It's the original windows login screen - not the later xp version |
