Error: Not a valid win32 application

I get this error message when I try to open some files for example
C:\Downloads\Games\Hancock is not a valid win32 application or some other files the error message is always "is not a valid win32 application" What can I do to open these files so that the error message does not come up? How can I open this kind of file?

The "not a valid Win32 application" message occurs when you try to open a corrupted file, usually damaged during the download process. I have re-downloaded the file, deleted the old one, tried almost everything, but still I keep on recieving this message.
I downloaded a few more .exe files, and I am getting the same message, when I try to open them.

May be the file is not compatible with your operating system. Newer games require certain files to be added to your operating system, so I would recommend trying to update your windows.

There are mainly 4 reasons for this error
1. File is corrupt, bad, or missing.
