| Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer
I was recording a movie when all of the sudden a blue screen flashes on my PC saying, "windows has detected an error, shutdown immediately to prevent damage to your PC" It does not boot into safe mode or into last known good configuration. All that happens when i try this is that the same blue screen keeps coming up. The only way i can get the system to work is to install the windows xp system disk then format and reinstall. Every time i reboot, i get the same blue screen. Pls Help!!! Windows XP Professional Monitor: Compaq FS740 MotherBoard: Compaq Presario 5451 |

You can probably boot in safe mode and then restore to a current setting. Or either install a clean fresh windows version. |
