Gigabyte GTX 760 SLI or GTX 780

I am looking to purchase a new graphics card so that I can get atleast a 1080p configuration. For this purpose I am going to choose either 2 x Gigabyte GTX 760 in sli mode or else Gigabyte GTX 780. I will also try to upgrade in the near future to a 2560x1444 monitor and since I have not run any SLI configuration so I dont know if it is going to be good for me? Any advice on this will be appreciated.

I think that it will be good if you can get the 2 x GTX 760 in SLI which will be more beneficial than the GTX 780 graphics card. You will also enjoy gaming at 1440p at the most I think. You can expect a 10% higher performance with the GTX 760 in SLI compared to a single GTX 780 for 1440p. Also, note that you will need a supportable motherboard for running SLI setup.

I dont like 2 cards setup because then you will require a good motherboard for its support and also a high wattage Power Supply of upto 750watts or so. So, I would suggest you to stick with a single card like GTX 780, which will be more than enough for usage. But it is true that a GTX 760 SLI beats a single GTX 780 by a little margin.

I also believe that having a single GTX 780 would be a good idea since it is a powerful and stable card compared to a SLI setup. If you have a good system with proper support for SLI then you can always choose to build a SLI configuration. What is your whole computer specifications and based on your build I can suggest you to go with either the single card or 2 cards.
