| Updating Office 2007 Professional Trial to Office 2007 Ultimate
I bought Office 2007 Ultimate and tried to update the trail copy of professional by just entering the product key. this worked for outlook, word, powerpoint, and excel, but not for onenote (which i had the trial separately) - it did not recognize the key. Which of these steps should i take 1) delete onenote trial and install from my purchased copy of ultimate OR load the new one without uninstalling the trial, 2) keep the trail copies where the key works, OR overwrite the trial OR delete it first, 3) load up the other stuff on ultimate that was not part of professional. Is it a problem if i have a mix of "professional", which is what the program are called now when i really bought the "ulitimate". I am inclinded to reload every thing from the ultimate disk. Roger |

An Update - It looks like a few hours after entering my product key, Outlook has stopped working. Since my trial was "professional" and my key was "ultimate" it may have discovered a conflict and disabled my Outlook. Is this possible? Do i delete all the trials or just copy over them? Since my outlook is not non-functional, i need to move with some haste to get a solution. I answered my own question by calling microsoft support. There solution worked. It was to uninstall the 2007 professional trial version and the 2003 verson, then install the full ultimate version. The reason the product key did not work is they are matched by type of product, so my trial was professional and the purchased suite was ultimate and they are not compatible. But, i used up my "number of installs" but the experimenting, and had to use the phone to call microsoft to activiate. Both of these phone calls were answered within a couple of rings, the people pleasant and the solutions effective.
