Error 1603 on recent Office 2003 updates

My pc is not able to install recent Office 2003 updates, i have checked out in event viewer logs and have come across several Error code 1603. I have install same office update on my other working machine in network and did not faced any issue as such. It seems there is something wrong going on with my system. Any idea what might be stopping the update to get installed??

Error 1603 appears due to permission error. If you are admin of your network than take ownership of c:\windows\system32\mapisvc.inf. and give full control to user/group accordingly, update should get installed without any further issue after that.
