Possibly easiest to download the update, then install it offline. You can
get it here:

Otherwise, what error(s) do you see when attempting the install? What is in
your WindowsUpdate.LOG file (in the Windows folder) regarding that update?

As for importance, I would not rank it too highly. You can read about it in
the related KB article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/920355); it deals
with files in the local cache of Office install files that may be deleted
when using the disk cleanup wizard.

Hi Sky,

The only error message that it gives is error#8007006E I tryed to save it
to desktop, it goes ok, but at the end, installation stops with a message
(the update cannot be applied. I am not sure if this has anything to do with
the issue. My onenote is still 2003 because I purchased and licenced the
software. But all my other office products are 2007 trial softwares. So, I
have both 2003 and 2007 office products running on my pc. Like I said, I
don;t know if that is part of the problem.
After reading the details, I don't think I need the update. But it is
causing 2 issues. Automatic updates has downloaded and attempted to install
this 23 times in this month, and all failed, but it is still trying. Also
wloc is permantly in yellow causion status because of this. Is there a way to
get the auto-update to overlook this update?

Hi;

The next time AU offfers this update, UNcheck it, then click OK; you should
see a popup asking if you want to see this update again. Mark No, and that
hopefully will clear it from the AU offerings.

Hi Sky King,

I solved the issue by choosing to hide the update. WLOC stays in green
status now, and auto-updates stopped trying to install it. However, If my
solution backfires, I will keep your solution in mind. Thanks for helping, I

Actually, what I posted last was another method to Hide the update. So same
solution, just a different way of getting there. <g>
