    How to open mdi extention files with Office 2000?

    My pc is running on Win 2000 Professional and i am having Office 2000 installed on it but i am not able to open mdi extention files using any program. I wanted to know if there is anything that i can try out to open mdi extention files with Office 2000? Help regrading this will be appreciated.

    As far as i am aware .MDI files are supported by Microsoft Office 2003 version and Higher of Microsoft Office Document Imaging. You wont be able to open mdi extention files with Office 2000.

    Yes shivinder is right by saying ".MDI files are supported by Microsoft Office 2003 version and Higher" but that's without a compatibility pack. You can use Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack which is available at Microsoft Download Center for opening mdi extention files with Office 2000. You just have to download and install Compatibility Pack, double-click on .MDI file and it should get opened with Office 2000 automatically. If it doesn't get opened automatically then you can right click on it and select Word 2000 for opening it

    Rather than using Win 2000 Professional with Office 2000 upgrade to windows xp or vista and start using office 2003 or 2007.
