| missing MAINSP1op.msp
I installed a new, larger Seagate HD and used their utility to move the old HD image to the new drive which is now the C: Both Windows (XP w/sp2) and Office Pro (2003 w/sp2 etc) have missing cabs - which are also now missing from the original drive when searched or even when subbed back as the C: drive. I think I fixed windows but on starting any Office app I get a message that it is defective and to run repair but the app will then open and work apparently normally. On running repair it fails looking for MAINSP1op.msp in C:\Program Files\OfficeUpdate11\Cabs\511735\ There is no such file. I can't even find this install file on any other identical computers I search on my small network so I can just paste it in. I've tried 1) using OFFICE11 setup to repair which fails after opening a few cabs, 2) running the full admin version of SP1 (Office2003SP1-kb842532-fullfile-enu) and 3) running the full admin version of SP2 (Office2003SP2-KB887616-FullFile-ENU) - both of which start extracting cabs and then say they can not install. -- Dick |

Hi, Mostly when you bring major changes to your hard-ware/software, Office installation might get corrupted. If you do have the Office discs, try removing Office from your machine completely and then try re-installing it. You could use the following tool to remove Office if it fails to remove through Add/Remove Programs. http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;290301 Thanks, Mittu "Dick" wrote: > I installed a new, larger Seagate HD and used their utility to move the old > HD image to the new drive which is now the C: > Both Windows (XP w/sp2) and Office Pro (2003 w/sp2 etc) have missing cabs - > which are also now missing from the original drive when searched or even when > subbed back as the C: drive.
