| Kb 977724
Applied this update to Office 2007 Enterprise SP2 on a Windows 2008 SP2 server. After application, all Office products (Word, Excel, & Infopath) fail with a c000005 fault. The error has been forwarded to Microsoft. Removing the patch fixes the problem and all Office products work properly as they have for the past year. Anyone else see this problem? |

Contact MS for free phone support. You were given the number in the documentation with your purchase of the VL Office Enterprise Same here. this was strange. This is so new that not many have reported it in the forums yet. |

| Re: KB 977724
I was just searching on this issue too since I just had the same issue. This thread came up as the first result in Google when I searched for Microsoft KB977724 Problem. I use Server 2008 SP2, Office 07, both with all updates. After installing the latest patch, KB977724, I wasn't able to open Outlook or Office Communicator. I just happened to try removing this patch first as it was at the top of the list of recently applied updates and I can now open Outlook again. Damn microsoft... One thing I noticed, I looked up article KB977724 and it said: "How to determine whether the update is installed" Mso.dll 12.0.6521.5000 17,309,056 29-Oct-2009 10:48 But I couldn't find this file on my system at all. So maybe that's the issue? |

If you have the Enterprise version of Office then follow the answer that I posted to Pete Loveall If not then start a new post describing the Office and Windows version that you have along with all and any error messages. Not a very good idea to hijack someone else's post in particular if not the same version of Office that is in question |

| Re: KB 977724
The hot fix worked like a champ. This was not specific to a particular type of Office but to the OS environment and kb 977724, as the referenced kb article in the blog describes (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980210). That was the reason for my initial post and asking if it was seen by anyone else. |

I have Vista on my laptop and it will not load. From what I'm reading in the responses, it created problems, is it best to NOT be concerned because it failed to download? Help!! |
