Office 2007 programs failing with c000005 fault after applying Kb 977724 update update

I had applied Kb 977724 update for Office 2007 Enterprise SP2 in my case, i don't know what went wrong and all Office products like Word, Excel started failing with c000005 fault. I have tried removing the patch currently and things are all applications are working fine now but i will like to know if anyone has installed Kb 977724 update successfully for Office 2007 Enterprise SP2?

I thought i was the only one facing that issue but now i a seeing many people reporting the same. There is something wrong with latest Kb 977724 update. I am not sure if that has affected Office 2007 Enterprise SP2 specifically. I have forwarded the issue to Microsoft today itself and i am waiting for their response. Ill post back as soon as i get any update on this issue. I think we will need an update from Microsoft to get Kb 977724 working for Office 2007.

Just try out hot fix in below article, i was running in to same issue and this hotfix has worked like a saver.

I have Vista on my laptop and it will not load. From what I'm reading in the responses, it created problems, is it best to NOT be concerned because it failed to download?
