Office 2007 SP2 Install Failure

I just tried installing Office 2007 SP1 and came across an error message saying "The detection failed, this can be due to a corrupted installation database". I thought i would uninstall and carry out the installation again, unfortunately i am getting same error message while uninstalling it as well. I don't know what to so, is there anything i can try for installing Office 2007 SP1 successfully?

I had the same problem until I made sure that both the Blackberry Device Manager and Blackberry Desktop were not running. Once I stopped them both, SP2 installed without a hitch.
