    Corrupted installation database

My system is running Windows Vista and i have recently installed Microsoft Office Small Business 2007 in it. Today i have found that Windows updates for Office 2007 are failing to install, I thought of installing the updates manually by downloading them but when i am trying to download them then i am getting an error message saying "The detection failed, this can be due to a corrupted installation database." I want to know if i can do anything to download these updates and install them without any further issues??

I want to know if you have tried running MS Office Diagnostics tool? if not then try running it and see if that's fixing the issue. If you are having original installation disk of Microsoft Office Small Business 2007 then you can try repairing it using the cd as well. One of these solution should surely help you out, best of luck.
