Update KB951944 Failed to install

Today while running update KB951944 for Microsoft office 2007 home edition something went wrong and it got failed. In order to fix it i downloaded security update for 2007 and ran its fix but now i am getting an error message saying "The detection failed, this can be due to a corrupted installation database" I don't know what that means, is there anyone over here who has faced same error or has any idea about it??

I had faced same error previously but repairing office 2007 from add/remove program fixed it for me. I did not had any issue in installing update(s) after that. So just try it out and see if it is helping you as well or not,best of luck.

Thanks for your suggestion Billie but ive just tried repairing office 2007 from add/remove program but that's not making any difference in my case. I am still not able to install Update KB951944. Is there any other solution that i can try out further?? should i try uninstalling and reinstalling whole office 2007??

I wanted to know if you had made clean installation of Microsoft office 2007 home edition in your case? if you are not sure than install Windows Clean Up utility from Microsoft, uninstall whole office 2007, delete all left overs file and reinstall it. I don't think you should face any error after that, give it a try and let me know if it is working out for you or not.
