| Setup cannot continue
Every time I start running installation Wizard of Ultimate 07, it starts and quits in few minutes saying “Setup cannot continue because a required file is either corrupt or not available. Run Setup again from the original source disc or download location.” Don’t which original CD it requires, I am doing it with the same bought original CD. After lots of tries and troubleshooting was getting the same error, hence I bought ONE MORE Office 2007 with another product. But guess what, still getting the same error. This is very frustrating. I have already paid for 2 Ultimate CDs and none of them are working. What else can I do to fix it ? Any advice please ? |

I doubt your CD/DVD drive is faulty. Did you tried any other software CD or DVD? Is your system able to read it properly ? If Dvd drive use to be faulty such problems occurs. You should check out this Microsoft Article describing How to troubleshoot problems that may occur when you try to install a 2007 Office system program from the 2007 Office system program CD or DVD: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924619/en-us |

As far as I know if system wont able to read the disks, it gives error about missing files. I have been through such problems when my XP system was stuck saying me missing some cab file. After lot of research, I managed to fix it by copying the entire CD files to a new Folder on desktop and ran the setup.exe from that new folder. The installation went fine and am using the same office. You should try it out as well. Just copy the cd/dvd to a folder and start installation from there. Just hope there should be any error while copying the cd. |

Well I think you were right Hayworth. That really worked for me. It was my DVD drive itself creating problems. It wasn’t able to copy the CD as well. Hence what I did is copied the CD folders on my another laptop’s desktop, network that laptop to my PC and ran the setup from there. No more errors and the installation went smoothly. Thank you again. |

| Re: Setup cannot continue
Looking through threads, there seems to be 2 problems that are possible. A previously installed version which needs to be removed or the DVD reader not being able to read an installation disc file for some reason. In my case, I had an original Office DVD, but the DVD reader would not read one of the cab files (brand new blu ray ROM HP laptop). I took the disc to another computer, copied the DVD onto an external hard drive, and was then able to install the software easily from the external drive. |
