How to disable MSOCACHE / Remove MSOCACHE post installation

I am working with a process of migrating Microsoft Office from 2000 to 2007. Now the deployment works in by creating a different channel by each application which is deployed. Once the client subscribed to the channel the software is simply copied to the desktop. The source folder is by default kept on the desktop. Now Office 2007 also has a cache of source which lies inside MSOCACHE folder. There can be chances of some unnecessary files stored in that I can get rid of. I want some help here to find out the way that will it be proper to remove it or not.

It is not possible top remove or disable it. And if you delete that manually then you might land up on some errors. Then to fix that you need to run repair setup which is again restore the folder back again. I had tested this before where I tried to remove the cache folder, but there was some errors on Word launch. After running the repair setup the folder appear back on the screen.

It is better if you do not run the setup directory form that cache folder. You can keep a separate file somewhere and use it for installation. You can run the setup when needed and then remove the files from the cache folder. As the folder is used by Microsoft office itself it is recommended to leave it as it is. Run disk cleanup. If those files are detected as useless it will be deleted.
