Installing MS Office 2007 Professional Plus

It is Windows XP Pro which was running with Office 2003 earlier that I have already uninstalled when I received the Office 2007 Professional Plus disk. Now when am trying to install this Office suite, setup gives me the following huge error:

“Setup is unable to proceed due to the following error(s):
The 2007 Microsoft Office system does not support upgrading from a pre-release version of the 2007 Microsoft Office system. You must first uninstall any prerelease versions of the 2007 Microsoft Office system products and associated technologies. Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run setup.”

As I said, office 2003 is already uninstalled, yet I checked Add and Remove programs to confirm, it is not there. I went to programs files and deleted every files and folders I saw labeled Office 12. But yet no success, still getting the same error. Can anyone please help me deleting the files safely that my setup wants to delete ? Thank you.

As you said you have already tried everything manually but still getting the same problem, I will suggest you to better download “Windows Installer CleanUp Utility” and let it do its work. Just install and run the same, select everything it lists about Office 2003 and remove. Once done, reboot the computer and start Off2007 installation. It should work.
